Mines minister stresses the need to find solutions to save Thompson Vale jobs

This week, Mines minister Dave Chomiak came to Thompson to stress the need to find solutions to maintain refinery and smelter jobs in Thompson.

Chomiak spoke to the Chamber of Commerce where he outlined the many advantages Thompson offers. He pointed to that we have some of the best infrastructure, a skilled work force and some of the cheapest electricity in the world. Continue reading

Getting the Doctors We Need

Ensuring that we have enough doctors practicing throughout the province has always been a challenge.

A new initiative is aimed at encouraging Manitoba medical graduates to work in areas most in need of doctors .The program will ensure their medical school costs fully covered by the province under a new program. Continue reading
